The Eleventh Annual “A Night wi’ Burns” Supper
was hosted by Bill and CeeBee McLeod at their Friendly Oaks Bed and Breakfast in
Victoria, Texas, on January 20, 2007. Grace was given by Madeline and Brendan
McLeod. The haggis was piped in by Piper Bill Robertson and borne by Bill
McLeod. The Address to the Haggis was given by John Griffin and Toasts to the
Queen by Don Mack McLeod and to the President by Bill Robertson. A delicious
Scottish dinner was served. The Drambeauties, Jackie Sears, Muffee Beaton and
Sarah Piepgrass, entertained the group with a selection of Scottish songs. The
evening ended with a Toast to Robert Burns and the singing of Auld Lange Syne.
We were especially pleased to have four generations of McLeods present for this
celebration. They were Hugh Milton McLeod, Sr. (98); Hugh Milton McLeod, Jr.
(65), Michael Reilly McLeod (37) and Brendan Davis McLeod (9). A very enjoyable
evening was had by all.
