The Arlington Scottish Festival and Highland Games were held at Maverick Stadium, University of Texas Campus, Arlington, on June 2-4, 2006. The weather was beautiful, warm but with a nice breeze blowing. There was activity at the MacLeod tent at all times, due a great deal to the beautiful new MacLeod tent, which was designed by the RVP-Elect of the South Central Region, Ross McCaskill, construction supervised by North Texas Coordinator Gerald McLeod, and “friends of MacLeods” Scott Andresen, David Storm, and Chris Taylor. Decorating the tent were flags from each of the states in the South Central Region, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas, Scottish flags and the United States flag. They promise even more decorations will be added when the tent is raised at the Games in Salado, Texas, in November. Kudos to these fine young men who worked so hard to finish the tent in time for the Arlington Games. These same young men won the golf tournament and were awarded the MacLeod Challenge Cup and several individual trophies.
