Objective of The Chaplain's Prayer Room The Clan MacLeod Society elects and installs a Chaplain. One of the chaplain’s duties is to pray for those who are ill and to invoke God’s comfort and healing. Another of the chaplain’s duties is to beseech the comfort of the Holy Spirit upon those who have suffered the death of a loved one within the last year. The third duty of the Chaplain concerning the ill and those who have died is to enlist the prayers of the Clan membership so that the entire community known as the Clan MacLeod Society can act as a corporate chaplain. Thus, we can and should, all act as chaplains in ministry to each other. Introduction As human beings we are not gifted with magical powers of healing or raising other humans from endless sleep. Most of us are not gifted with the “right” words of comfort to offer to those who need comfort. But each of us is capable of a ministry of presence in thought and deed. Each of us can minister to those known and unknown to us who need such “presence.” Each time we sit with the ill or call on the bereaved we are ministers of deed. Each time we pray for those who suffer from illness or mistake or neglect we are ministers of thought and mediation. Each time we lovingly remember and/or memorialize one who has left this life we add our portion to the grace and comfort of the Holy Spirit abundantly bestowed upon the grieving. It is our hope that this web page will be used to share thoughts, feelings and prayers for those Clan members, and their families who are in need and that it will provide an opportunity for anyone who wishes to pay tribute to those who are recently deceased
